What To Pack For Your Back-Roads Touring Tour

Wondering what to take with you on your upcoming Back-Roads Touring tour?

It’s important to bear in mind that what you pack will depend on the countries you’re visiting and the time of year in which you plan to travel. So be sure to do some research before your departure.

In the meantime, use our handy packing list to get you started.

1. Travel Essentials

Your travel essentials are some of the most important items you’ll take with you when traveling. Be sure to check these off your list before you go.

- Passport
- Visas (if required). Visit Travel.State.Gov (US) or the Government of Canada website (Canada) for more information
- Travel insurance policy
- Tour itinerary
- Cash/credit card

2. Clothing

The typical weather of the destinations you’ll be visiting will vary throughout the year. Read up ahead of time to make sure you’re prepared.

- Sun hat
- Sunglasses
- Shorts/skirts
- Long sleeved tops
- Short sleeved tops
- Trousers
- Light jacket
- Waterproof jacket and umbrella
- Warm jacket
- Walking shoes/comfortable shoes
- Smart casual evening wear
- Sleepwear
- Swimwear and towel

3. Luggage

As we travel in mini-coaches, luggage space is limited. If you have more luggage, please make arrangements to store it prior to joining the tour as we are unable to carry any extra on the mini-coach.

1 x suitcase (up to 20kg). Length plus width plus height must equal 158 cm
1 x Handbag/small backpack (soft, with no wheels)

4. Toiletries and Medication

Make sure you pack enough personal medication to see you through your trip. Some of these extras may come in handy too.

- Personal medication
- Insect repellent
- Motion sickness tablets
- Paracetamol or aspirin
- Anti-diarrhoea tablets
- Sunscreen
- Lip balm
- Contact lenses
- Shaving kit

Stay in touch with folks back home and capture memories on your trip.

- Multi-use travel adapter
- Camera
- Batteries
- Phone
- Enough space on memory cards
