I am a tour operator and a travel agent. I found the tour to have an excellent itinerary, a very well organized knowledge guide who was able to impart her love for her country to her guests.
I do not think your choice of hotel in Oslo is up to the same standard as your other choices, I think a city hotel should be a little more comfortable.
The wllk in showers are much too tiny.

Tove, our guide, was knowledgeable and personable. She brought our group together with her humour and inclusiveness. Our tour through Norway was a great mix of activity and downtime and the country was just beautiful.

How many times per day can you say ‘Wow’ ? Everywhere you look is just brilliant. You can drink the water wherever you are - the food and most of the people are really nice and friendly and everywhere we went was very clean.
The hotels we stayed in were clean and comfortable and all the meals provided were top class. We also had many opportunities to stretch our kegs and see even more amazing sights.
Our tour guide (Tove) was absolutely brilliant - genuinely warm, very knowledgeable and a good sense of humour. Would certainly do a tour with her again. .

The most amazing scenery imaginable! Small groups are definitely the way to go, in order to get the best value from a tour like this. Some beautiful hotels in picturesque settings; unique experiences; delicious local foods provided in the included meals; I love the little extras that get squeezed into backroads tours (weather and time permitting). We couldn’t fault this trip and highly recommend it!

Can not rate this tour highly enough! Shabby our guide (and Simon our driver) are a major reason for this rating, they really went above and beyond. The scenery was simply stunning, the places we were taken to were fascinating, the stories and facts we were told were amazing, making this a magical trip. Having a small group and bus made all the difference too. Be prepared for the high cost of drinks, food, souvenirs etc in Norway, but that certainly doesn't put us off highly recommending it.

We loved this small group tour. Tour Guide Shabby was very passionate and knowledgeable about the tour, with lots of energy and fun. We were very fortunate to have good weather, which included light snow one afternoon as we reached the top of a Mountain. Our Driver, Simon was excellent and kept us safe on some busy roads. He was always helpful and courteous both with his passengers and other drivers.

The guide was fabulous and made the tour really good. We enjoyed all the information she gave us. Loved how much she studied and told us about the area.
Hotels were mixed. A few were generic new ones where walked to also as generic restaurants one of which was Asian in Norway . Didn't have any Norwegian feel and weren't in interesting towns.
The one historic one was great where we stayed two nights

The training bus driver was BAD, could of killed is all had one of the guest at not told him to slow down as we're all near screaming in fear!

Didn't like the town of Flam and wish it had been planned so we didn't spend so much b time there. The beer garden was a tourist mess with tons of people from a huge cruise ship. Not " back roads at all"

The anker hotel in Oslo wasn't nice so that was a pain to have to lode but at least it was a. Nicer hotel

The tour was absolutely wonderful, way better than expected. That was mainly due to our wonderful tour guide Shabby and the magnificent weather and the fac5 that the group bonded really well and quickly. The scenery was breathtaking and Shabby gave us so much background to the country and put a lot of life into the trip. We’ll always recommend Back Roads.

A most enjoyable tour through one of the most beautiful places in the world. It was well designed, and we visited many places I wouldn’t have been able to see on my own. I enjoyed the fact we saw the famous sights like the FLAM railway but also lesser known spots that were stunning. The guide was excellent and gave us lots of relevant info. Highly recommended.

Fabulous tour, spectacular scenery and a great adventure. A complete mix of old and new, a variety of accommodation, great food, friendly people and a throughly enjoyable trip. Loads of cultural sights, from the glacier to swimming in the icy water of the fjords, Constitution Day parade in Voss and seeing the waterfalls from the Flam train trip., and ferry.
Highly recommend this trip.

Fantastic tour! I would recommend it to anyone. Our Guide, "Shabby" was great. She was very informative all along the way, with sights, history and even music. The tour itself was well planned, with plenty of sightseeing mixed in with the driving. We have to give a shout out to our driver, who negotiated the treacherous Norwegian roads with aplomb. All in all, a great tour.

This was a wonderful way to see the splendours of Norway. Our enthusiastic guide Shabby and excellent driver Si, made sure we experienced and learned so much about Norway. We travelled almost 1000 miles in comfort with many interesting stops and walks. We saw much more than any cruise ship could offer. Certainly the best way to discover the wonders of Norway

Great tour. Tour guide, “Shabby” Flanders was outstanding and set the bar for a group tour guide. Her knowledge and communication skills superb. She had obviously done her homework. She knew local history, real backroads, which cafes, vistas, etc. She made the trip fun for all 17 of us.
She is a unique soul of whom your company can be proud.

Day after day we travelled through areas of outstanding natural beauty. We drove past mountains, lakes, waterfalls, fjords and glaciers, stopping for interesting activities or to enjoy the local cuisine along the way. Our very knowledgeable guide Shabby was able to give us plenty of information about the places we visited.

Excellent leadership and driving. Shabby was very knowledgeable and humorous in her accounts of the events of the day and history of the areas we traveling through. Si was a very good driver on the potentially dangerous roads.

The most amazing scenery, all the time. We had a fantastic guide and very skilled driver.
Most of the time, we stayed away from crowds and it was just beautiful.

the guide was helpful and informative and did as good as he could given what seemed to be a case of fixing issues as he went -
guide was fixing backroad management problems - ie organising meals that should have been organised and included as there were very few options for meals

Well planned tour with excellent guide. Only reservation was the use of two hotels overrun by multiple big buses resulting in overcrowded breakfast and poor restaurant service.

This Back Roads tour was absolutely fantastic. Our tour guide was brilliant in every aspect. Very informative. Also great bus driver. I would thoroughly recommend.

Very well organised with an opportunity to view the fabulous scenery, stay in some wonderful locations and savour the best Norwegian food.

Norway itself is magnificent. The scenery is spectacular and the people and the culture are really lovely. The tour guide was also excellent. However the hotel options and food .. dinner and lunch options provided by Backroads in a number of places were dreadful, tiny rooms with often poorly functioning facilities. Some of the meals provided under their package were awful and extremely limited.

The day we went up over the mountains to the Geiranger Lookout was amazing. We experienced a snow storm so we could not see much but it was a lot of fun. Very cold but memorable.

Sub standard hotels Not suited to the demographic who take these tours. Some hotels had no lifts and one room we stayed in was disgusting and when we checked out I told the staff and the person I spoke to said “I thought that room was closed down”. Breakfast at most hotels was not acceptable
