Imagine everything our extraordinary Tour Leaders have witnessed on the road. Endless idyllic, mesmerising views. Hidden corners of quaint villages full of mouthwatering cuisine. The intoxicating culture encountered each time our luxury mini-coach stops at a new, hypnotising destination. But what about their most memorable experiences?  

Our guests treasure the gustoso (tasty) food on our much-loved Italian tours. Think savouring the top-rated pizza in the world on our Enchanting Southern Italy tour, unlocking the secrets of Tuscan cuisine during a cooking class on our Tuscan Treats tour or joining a truffle hunt with a local farmer on our tour aptly named Italian Indulgence.

It has now been a little over 2 months since we ran our long-awaited, first tour of 2022! As many of our brilliant guests, Tour Leaders, Drivers and Head Office staff will be aware, it had been a turbulent time waiting for trips to recommence. However, we are thrilled that so many guests have already booked onto a multitude of our award-winning tours for 2022 and beyond. 

A Scottish Journey

After an incredibly challenging period for Back-Roads Touring, we are thrilled to report back on our first tour to depart since November 2019.

A Scottish Journey has been an excellent tour to kick off our 2022 season, encompassing towering mountains, mesmerising scenery and enchanting lochs. It has been a pleasure for our Tour Leader Rob Carr to be reconciled with guests after what has felt like an eternity of waiting for international travel to resume. Rob is an extremely insightful Tour Leader with a passion for dazzling guests with intriguing Scottish history.

Our wonderful guests started their voyage in charming Edinburgh and embarked upon a 10-day adventure abundant in Scottish treasures. The fascinating history of Culloden Battlefield was unearthed, the breathtaking Cairngorms National Park was admired, and a glass (or several) of Scotland’s world-famous whisky was delightfully sampled.

ANZAC Day 2022

Today we are commemorating ANZAC Day by reflecting upon the immense sacrifice that soldiers in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps have made for us throughout history. Courage, endurance and companionship are all strongly associated with 'the ANZAC spirit', which is deeply embedded in both nations' cultures. Today we honour our heroes by collating some excerpts of Remembrance and ANZAC Day poems.

National Pizza Day

This National Pizza Day, we’ve decided to help you uncover where to find the best pizza in Italy. With so many authentic Italian eateries to choose from, it can be difficult to decide where to venture to get those tastebuds tingling. The destinations we’ve collated include where to find the oldest pizzeria in the world and where to find trapizzino, the iconic Italian pizza pocket. Buon appetito!
